Terms of Use
Last updated June 7, 2026
This is the full version of Kin’s terms. For the short read, see the terms summary.
1. Acceptance
By downloading or using Kin, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Kin.
2. What Kin is
Kin is an app that helps you care for your dog and keep their whole story in one place — health, daily care, photos, and milestones.
3. Not veterinary advice
Kin helps you organize information and notice patterns. It is not a veterinary service and does not provide diagnosis or treatment. Always consult a licensed veterinarian about your dog’s health, and in an emergency contact your vet or an emergency animal hospital.
4. Eligibility and accounts
You sign in with Apple; one Apple ID is one Kin account. You’re responsible for keeping your device and Apple ID secure. Child accounts are supported through Apple Family Sharing with the restrictions described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Kin is free for one dog. Premium is $7.99 / month or $59 / year, billed through your Apple account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends; you can manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Settings — one tap, no retention hoops. Prices may vary by region and may change with notice. Payments, refunds, and billing are handled by Apple under the terms of your Apple account.
6. Your content
You own your dog’s data and the content you add. You grant Kin only the permission needed to store, sync, and display that content to you and the people you choose to share with, and to operate the features you use. We don’t claim ownership of your content, and we don’t sell it.
7. Acceptable use
Please use Kin lawfully. Don’t attempt to breach its security, disrupt the service, reverse-engineer it except where allowed by law, or resell it.
8. Beta
If you use a beta or TestFlight build, it may be incomplete and may change. Your feedback is welcome and may help us improve Kin.
9. Third-party services
Kin works with Apple services and, where you opt in, a small number of named third parties (for example, our cloud reasoning provider or affiliate partners). Their handling of any data is governed by their own terms, as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers
Kin is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep it running but can’t guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, and features will evolve over time.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kin and its makers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of Kin. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under the law where you live.
12. Changes
We may update these terms; we’ll change the date above and note material changes.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Kin operates; the specific governing law and venue will be confirmed before public launch.
